Infectious Souls

repressionitisThese wigs and this video were made for my Sculpture class with David Page. The assignment was to sculpturally create relational objects/objects of intimate architecture. Filmed in the trains of the DC metro, the cast of this mockumentary consists of artists exclusively. Starring Carey Francis, a phenomenal painter/performance artist/MFA graduate of American University, the mockumentary explores a fictional virus called Repressionitis, which causes victims to feel liberated and uninhibited in public places, where people are expected to act “normal.” The term repression is loaded with social and psychological implications, both of which are exhibited in the mockumentary.
